    The safety of our guests and team members is our number one priority so we have put in many measures across our properties to ensure our guests can feel confident when visiting and staying in our properties and our team members can feel confident working in them too.

  • COVID-19: Restaurant Pre-Booking & Opening Times

    Following the current Government guidelines, last orders in our bar and restaurant is 10pm. Please note that alcoholic drinks can only be served as part of a substantial meal so we are therefore unable to serve alcoholic drinks on their own.

    Please ensure to pre-book your breakfast sitting in advance of arrival. We also advise to pre-book your dinner reservation in advance of your stay. Please contact our team to book both your breakfast and dinner reservations.

  • COVID-19: Government Changes to VAT in Hospitality

    We can confirm that the rate at which you booked your guestroom still stands and we would like to explain the reason for this.

    The reduction in VAT is a great initiative which has been introduced to help hospitality businesses during these challenging times as per the guidance released from the Government. The full announcement can be seen here and below is a summary of the key messages:

    “The government made an announcement on 8 July 2020 allowing VAT registered businesses to apply a temporary 5% reduced rate of VAT to certain supplies relating to:

    • Hospitality
    • Hotel and holiday accommodation
    • Admissions to certain attractions


    The temporary reduced rate will apply to supplies that are made between 15 July 2020 and 12 January 2021.

    These changes are being brought in as an urgent response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic to support businesses severely affected by forced closures and social distancing measures.”

    After sadly being closed for three months and the increased costs we need to absorb in line with government guidance, our business has been severely affected by the pandemic. This initiative is a huge support to our business and the hospitality sector as a whole and it also enables us to bring more of our valued team members back off furlough.

  • Do you hold rooms provisionally?

    No we take a credit card to guarantee reservations and our cancellation policy then applies.

  • When is check in?

    3.00pm

  • When is check out?

    11.00am

  • Do you offer late check out?

    Yes, available at £10.00 subject to availability until a maximum of 2.00pm.

  • Do you have travel cots/Z-beds available? Do you charge for it?

    Yes, we have a limited supply and there is no charge, please let us know if you need either when you book so we can make sure they are in your room ready for arrival.

  • What are the bar’s opening times?

    The bar opens from 11.00am to 11.00pm every day.

  • Is car parking available?

    We don’t have any dedicated car parking facilities however there are 2 public car parks in the village where charges apply, and limited short stay parking directly in front of the inn.

  • Are pets allowed?

    Charged at £15.00 per room, per stay some of our rooms include a cushion and water bowl for your four-legged friend too – so your dog can enjoy a relaxing break in The Lakes with you. Just let us know when you book your stay and we’ll do our best to accommodate – in fact, just let us know if there’s anything we can do at all as we’re passionate about doing everything we can to make your stay memorable. We’ll donate 10% of this to the Lake District Search and Rescue Dogs Association.

  • Is there disabled access?

    We do have one guest room that is accessible at ground floor level, however the remainder of the rooms are up at least one flight of stairs.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

    As long as you cancel your booking before 10am on the day before you’re due to arrive, there will be no charge. Bookings cancelled after 10:00am on the day before you’re due to arrive will be charged for the first night’s stay. No Shows will be charged for the first night’s stay.
