  • COVID-19: Key Things To Know

    We are delighted that all areas of our inn are fully open and would like to say a big thank you for all the support you have shown us.

    Whilst many visible signs of our safety measures have now been removed, we want you to feel reassured that your safety and our team member's safety are of utmost importance.

    We continue to operate in a very safe way – a way which has become the new normal for us and we continue to follow the government guidelines which can be seen here.

    We're really proud to have been awarded the 'We're Good To Go' certificate from Visit England; the official mark to confirm we have a risk assessment and the correct processes in place to make the Crown Inn safe for our team and guests.

    Face Coverings

    We are providing all our team members with the option of wearing a face covering or visor should they choose to wear one. Whilst it is no longer a legal requirement for our guests to wear a face-covering in public areas we ask that you continue to respect others personal space and wear a face-covering where you feel necessary i.e. in busy areas.

  • Do I need to pre-pay for my room on booking?

    We require credit card details when you book our fully-flex rate but only to secure your booking. We do not ask for full payment up front. Payment for your stay and any extras you have taken whilst you are with us will be required when you check out and not before. 

  • Can I cancel my booking if things change?

    Yes - whilst we really hope that you won't need to cancel your booking, on our fully-flexible rate, as long as you cancel your booking before 10:00am on the day before you’re due to arrive, there will be no charge. If you do need to cancel simply give us a call on 01729 822203.

    Bookings cancelled after 10:00am on the day before you’re due to arrive will be charged for the first night’s stay. No Shows will be charged for the first night’s stay.

  • Is car parking available?

    We don’t have our own car park at the Crown Inn but there are 3 public car parks in the village, all within short walking distance of the Crown Inn (please note that charges apply for these facilities). If you have large luggage please feel free to pull up outside our inn and drop your luggage off and one of our team members can then direct you to one of the public car parks nearby. 

  • Do you hold rooms provisionally?

    No we take a credit card to guarantee reservations and our cancellation policy then applies.

  • When is check in?

    3.00pm

  • When is check out?

    11.00am

  • Do you offer late check out?

    Yes, available at £10.00 subject to availability until a maximum of 2.00pm.

  • Do you have travel cots/Z-beds available? Do you charge for it?

    Yes, we have a limited supply and there is no charge, please let us know if you need either when you book so we can make sure they are in your room ready for arrival.

  • What are the bar’s opening times?

    The bar opens from 11.00am to 11.00pm every day.

  • Are pets allowed?

    Charged at £15.00 per room (will be added to your bill on check-in), per stay some of our rooms include a cushion and water bowl for your four-legged friend too – so your dog can enjoy a relaxing break in The Lakes with you. Just let us know when you book your stay and we’ll do our best to accommodate – in fact, just let us know if there’s anything we can do at all as we’re passionate about doing everything we can to make your stay memorable. We’ll donate 10% of this to the Lake District Search and Rescue Dogs Association.

  • Is there disabled access?

    We do have one guest room that is accessible at ground floor level, however the remainder of the rooms are up at least one flight of stairs.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

    As long as you cancel your booking before 10am on the day before you’re due to arrive, there will be no charge. Bookings cancelled after 10:00am on the day before you’re due to arrive will be charged for the first night’s stay. No Shows will be charged for the first night’s stay.
